Quick Update

Thanks for the wonderful birthday wishes you guys! I had a good birthday with my friends and an even better St Patrick's Day! Haha, it is great to be 21, that's for sure! I hope you guys are having a grand week...too bad Spring Break is almost over, although I have no idea when y'alls SB is. Other than Mon and Tues, I haven't done anything else besides work full time. I have barely been able to enjoy my Mac, but don't worry, I will this weekend! Haha, just wanted to update real fast. I'm hoping to get some writing in this weekend after I finish all my overwhelming homework. Have a great day!

MacBook

Today was a good day. I went to Fry's today to pick out a new laptop...a Mac! haha, it gives me butterflies. So I'm going back tomorrow on my lunch break to buy it. Then after Fry's today, I went with my parents to Benihanas for dinner. It was neat with the guy cooking at our table and everything. There was another threesome at our table and the boy with them was turning seventeen, so at the end of the meal our waiter brought out two huge candles and a plate of four little balls of ice cream wrapped in a type of pound cake. It was awesome. So that was a good day for me. Now it's off to a full week of work starting tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow I'm going to Carrabba's for dinner with a friend of mine because our other friend works there. Then when she gets off work, we are all three going down Main street to hit the bars! Wooh! lol, it should be interesting.

Interactive Fiction

Holy freaking crap, I haven't been on here in forever and that's so sad. Well, hopefully I can be on here more this week since it is Sprrriiinnng Brreeaakk!! And my Birrtthhddayyy! And that was a little dramatic...

So far, I am starting my break off by getting over the flu. What a rockin' start.
So far today, I have slept until 2:30pm, re-read some of Harry Potter 7, and figured out which summer classes I will be taking. Other than that, today is Saturday and I am not going to be doing much, seeing as how I'm still sick.

--------------

I ran down the alleyway in the dead of night, following Robert as he chased another mortal victim. I couldn’t bear to see him conforming to Marcus’s ways. He was allowing Marcus to rule his life, allowing him to control his every move. I wasn’t even sure my Robert was in there anymore. He seemed to have disappeared completely, leaving a bloodthirsty vampire in his place.

“Robert! Stop!” I yelled after him.

The human kept running, but he wasn’t fast enough. Robert leapt on him, throwing him down on the dirty pavement, and pinned him to the ground as he bared his teeth above his throat.

The human squirmed in protest, begging to be let go, to be free to live. They hated this war as much as I did, but possibly even more.

Marcus lowered his mouth to the man’s throat. Before he bit into the thin skin, he stopped. Slowly he let go of the man and got to his feet. The man continued to lay on the ground, stunned and not knowing what to do.

“Go,” Robert growled, but the man did not move. “I said go!”

With fear in his eyes, the man got to his feet slowly and then ran away quickly, leaving Robert where he was in the alley.

I approached him cautiously, wondering whether his decision was to turn on me instead. I closed the distance between us, stopping about ten feet away.

“I don’t want to fight you Robert.” I said as my voice shook. At that moment, memories came flooding back to me. I remembered Robert helping me when my dad left. He never left my side and I never had to apologize when I cried on his shirt, drenching it with my salty tears. Robert was always there for me when I needed him the most, and this is what made me hesitate. I spoke the truth, I didn’t want to fight him, but I would if it were necessary to ensure my safe return to Evan. He needed me if no one else did.

“I’ve killed many mortals,” Robert said as he stared at the pavement with his back to me. “I’ve killed without regret and without guilt.”

I didn’t say anything. What was I supposed to say?

“What I’ve done, it makes me feel like a criminal. The agony is consuming me. How am I supposed to live with this knowledge, with this anger and treachery?” Robert said.

“Robert, it will be okay. We can help you, just join our side and everything will right itself. You’ll see, I promise. None of it matters now. The only thing that matters is that you’re sorry.” I said.

He turned to face me and ran the distance between us, putting his face barely an inch from mine. “You think it doesn’t matter now? Well it does. It’s always going to matter, for as long as I am alive it will matter. I need to remedy this once and for all. I never wanted this to happen, please help me out of it.”

I backed away from him, the closeness of his face catching me off guard. It had been so long since I had even spoken to him, much less been this close. “No, what are you saying? You can’t possibly think I would … no! I won’t do it, even if you beg!” Tears began to run down my face.

“Don’t tell me no, Andria, tell me yes. Please help me by ending it. Quicken my end; deliver me from all of this.”

“No! This is ridiculous. This is not the answer! I can’t do it and I won’t do it!” I screamed at him. I hoped my anger would be enough, I hoped my tears would make him realize how stupid he was being and tell him how much I cared.

“I can’t continue to live this way, and this is the only way. Don’t say you can’t do it! Just do it, get it over with!” He screamed back, tears running down his face as well.

“No,” I said. I had no more fight left in me, but I knew this was not something I could ever bring myself to do. I could not kill him even if he was a monster now and not my best friend.

“I love you, Andria.” He said.

I stared at him in utter disbelief and a loss for words. Before I could think of any way to respond, he turned his back to me and took off running the length of the alleyway.

“Robert!” I screamed, but he ignored me. I didn’t know where he was going, but I knew it would not be anywhere good.

As soon as he exited the alley, he turned left and disappeared from my view. I took off after him, planning to stop whatever he was about to do. When I was free of the alley, I looked to my left. Robert was there, running straight for a group of humans. As the humans saw his approach, they stood their ground, knowing that with minimal casualties and maybe a death or two, they could take down a single vampire.

When Robert got to them, he hit the first one in the face and then the others attacked him without hesitation.

“Robert, no.” I said to myself.

As they continued to attack him, he gave himself up to their forces by his own free will. I stood there as they sliced him to bits with their many different sharp blades and weapons. They did not hesitate as I did, but welcomed a vampire death automatically.

--------

Now, what if Andria had given into Robert's wish for death? What if she had delivered him in that alleyway? Would he have stopped her at the last minute? Would she have cried after?

What if you could decide her actions? Would you want to? If so, what would you make her do?

I have this final project thing for my computer class and I'm going to do a piece of interactive fiction. I'm probably going to use a chapter out of Beautiful Disruption and just add in several different alternative solutions. What do you guys think?

Finally!

Okay! I attempted to break some more ground on my new story idea, but it's a no-go. I'm tired of writing high school settings, but I don't have the experiene to write anything else. Ugh, frusrating. So anyway, The Great Funnel is still my favorite and I prefer to work on that at the moment. With that said, I'm sorry, but I'm going to post TGF since the new idea is crap so far. Here we go. Tell me what you think. I'm sorry it's short.

-----------------------------------

When school let out, snow was falling through the air, obstructing my view of the world. The air was cold, but mostly dry and very still. I walked home as usual. It wasn’t that far, but it was still a good walk. But today Hannah was with me, so I wasn’t extremely bored. Not to mention, Nathan had tagged along.

“So, you wanna come over now and play Xbox? Since you missed it yesterday for whatever reason,” he said.

“I told you, there was an emergency,” I said.

“Oh, right. But there’s not one now, right? So let’s go.”

“I can’t…” my words trailed off as I heard the gunshot.

Everyone around me ducked, but I stood firm in my stance, suddenly braver than usual.

“Over there!” Hannah pointed northeast across the street.

There was a man standing over a little boy, who was crying, and a woman, who looked to be in her early twenties. The woman wasn’t moving.

“Hannah, can you do something?” I asked.

But then the man fired another shot and the boy quit crying.

“Shit!” Hannah said.

Everyone around us began to run in circles, not sure where to go. Panic rose in the street with each passing second as people identified what was happening. Once they saw the gunman standing over the two bodies, they rushed to flee the scene, even if it meant trampling little kids underfoot.

“Ah man,” I said as a bad feeling sprang up in my throat. I couldn’t shake the thought that I would see the woman and little boy later that day. I turned around to tell Nathan I had to go home, but he wasn’t there. “Where did he go?”

Hannah looked around us and then began jumping up and down to see above the crowd of running people. “There he is!” She pointed down the sidewalk to our right. “He’s running with his tail between his legs.” She laughed.

“Hannah, just because you’re dead doesn’t mean everyone else is invincible as well.” She looked at me with anger in her eyes. “I’m sorry. Let’s just go home.”

“Hold on, maybe I can make sure the cops catch the gunman.”

I heard sirens in the distance and I turned to look for the gunman, but he was gone.

“Shit!” Hannah said again. “Where did he go?”

“I don’t know, but let’s leave. I don’t want to be around when the cops show up."
-----------------
“I know that they’ll be here,” I said as I slowly opened the door to my house.

“Want me to check it out?” Hannah asked.

“We can do it together. I think they’re harmless, they just need some help.”

The door creaked as I shut it behind me, making the hair on the back of my neck stand straight up. I couldn’t help but freak myself out with wild thoughts of dead people waiting for me in my room.

As Hannah and I both climbed the stairs to the second story, I heard faint sobbing coming from my room. The sobbing wasn’t sad or hysterical, but completely frightening; only something a horror movie would possess. I no longer wanted to meet the dead woman and boy.

“Hello?” I whispered almost inaudibly before I pushed my door open.

Hannah flicked on the light with such Zen that I thought she should be me and I should be her. She was definitely way more cut out for being the one dead people talked to. I couldn’t help but wince involuntarily before properly looking into my room.

“Dude, that crying is horrendous! You’re dead, okay? Deal,” Hannah huffed, clearly annoyed.

The little boy sat in the middle of my room on the floor and wailed as the woman knelt beside him and patted his back in a consoling manner. Her gaze slowly turned to meet Hannah’s as a silent scowl swept through the air.

Now I was really frightened.

Hannah scoffed at the gaze she received and crossed her arms hard in front of her, shielding herself from the dead woman’s glare.

I smiled slightly and nervously, trying to figure out the best way to ask what the hell they were doing in my room.

“Uh, so, hi, um … can I help you … or something?” I stammered.

“We might be able to help you if you get him to shut up,” Hannah said impatiently with a roll of her eyes.

“He’s frightened,” the woman said quietly while continuing to console the boy.

In Latin

Second iPhone post.

Well, I didn't get a date but I'm going anyway because it's my friend's birthday. It would be awesome if the guy I asked would have said yes, but of course he has to work early tomorrow morning and doesn't want to stay out late. Not that I asked him too, even though he always asks me too. Who knows, maybe he's finally figuring out the adult lifestyle. Maybe that's what I get for trying to date a guy two years younger than me. Too bad.

So the votes are in and I'll be posting some of the new story, which lacks a name. I have actually written some today already during classes to keep from falling asleep. So, get ready! I think I'll be posting it later; therefore, updating this post. We'll see when I get home...
