Useless Update

Here's to me being super slammed with school, work, and moving. Just wanted to say hey to everyone - I haven't forgotten you! Where are you guys in the 50 Book challenge? I'm at a stand still because all of my books are packed up in order for me to move them to my new apartment on Monday (woohoo!).

I started reading Beka Lamb for my Senior Seminar class. Has anyone read that? I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Update me on what y'all are doing.

I am trying to finish BD 2 right now. It's coming along rather pleasantly! No huge bumps in the road yet, yay! Maybe I'll have it finished before November so I can write the next book for NaNo.

Too Many?

I completed The Graveyard Book last night. The ending was a lot better than I thought it would be, although I wish it had been different. Overall, I don't think I would read the book a second time. It's like one of those movies that you saw at the theatre when it first came out, but you'd never actually pay to see it again, much less actually buy it on DVD. Oh well. Now I'm going to finish The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis.

I picked up the second book of Beautiful Disruption once more. I'm trying to finish it so that I can write book 3 for NaNoWriMo this year. I'd like to finally finish the series. I started writing it in 2006, the first book taking me two years to complete (that includes editing, etc) and it is now 2010. You'd think I should almost have book 3 completed, but I don't. But I'm going to try and have it done by the end of this year! Man, I always feel as if I don't have a lot of goals, but apparently I do a lot more than most of the people I know. Goodness. It's crazy how lazy people can be. Well, maybe I shouldn't say lazy. How about ... not driven? I don't know if there's a better word for that or not. It has slipped my mind.

Keep an eye on my word progress meters on the right column of this page and tell me whether or not I'm slacking off on writing Beautiful Disruption Book 2. Which I most certainly will, and which desperately needs a name. But that is for another post.

Book Update

Yes, I am quite aware that I am a total slacker when it comes to blogging. I used to love it, but lately it's become just something else that needs to be done.

Aside from that, here is an update on my 50+ book goal.

Thus far, I have read six books. Really bad, I know, but this is what I've read...

1. The Lightning Thief: Rick Riordan
2. Leven Thumps and the Ruins of Alder: Obert Skye
3. The Moving Finger: Agatha Christie
4. Thorn Queen: Richelle Mead
5. Harlem Duet: Djanet Sears
6. A Tempest: Aime Cesaire
7. The Graveyard Book: Neil Gaiman (IP)

I'm about finished with The Graveyard Book, then I need to finish Voyage of the Dawn Treader, then another Agatha Christie book. Hopefully I can do that in the two weeks before I move. That would be nice, but I doubt it'll happen.

How is everyone else doing with their goal?

Share!

2010 Goal

Some people have resolutions for new years, but I have goals. Maybe they are kind of the same thing, but it makes me think of different ideals. For instance, a resolution someone might have is to lose weight, but a goal would be to lose 10 pounds. See the difference? Anyway, that isn't the point of this post.

The point of this post is to say that one of my super fun goals for 2010 is to read 50+ books. 50 is the minimum and if I hit that then I will be super happy. See, last year I put reading on the back burner for school and work, but now that I'm graduating in May, I will have a lot more time to do the things I want to do (which is not school).

50 books in 2010 ... who's with me?

Btw, I'm a crappy blogger lol.

NaNoWriMo Is Over

So I was thinking earlier that maybe I should take a breather and update my blog. I am sure that you are all wondering whether or not I won NaNo. Well, I did! Yay! And with one day to spare. I spent the last week catching up pretty hardcore. In short, #nanowordsprints on Twitter saved my life.

Anyway, that is all that I really have to say. My final papers are taking up all of my time when I am not living at work. Yes, living. Next week I work 1pm-midnight every day to get ready for the Christmas Production. Then the week after that I leave for my 3 week vacation in Alaska. That is what I am looking forward to and that is what I am using to get me through this last week.

I hope everyone who participated in NaNo is satisfied with their outcome, whether a win or a loss. Rochelle, you are a star no matter what. Same goes for Sarah. You ladies tried your best and will do it even better next year. Just keep working on those stories so I can read them :)
